Since August 1, 2020, new weight limits apply in the men's physique disciplines!
The general formula for the calculation is height in cm minus a constant d, and from this value a percentage x is added.
For the men's Athletic Physique the formula is therefore (body height in cm minus 100) plus 5 percent.
For men's Sport Physique the formula is: (height in cm minus 100) plus 5 percent: (body height in cm minus 103) plus 3 percent. In addition, men of Sport Physique must have a skin fold thickness of at least 5 mm in the abdomen/navel area. This objectifies the "excessive definition" that the WBPF rule book does not want. If this limit is exceeded, up to three additional measuring points can be used as compensation in the following order: hip, triceps and knee inside. If the average value of the measured areas is less than 5 mm, then the athlete in question is too defined and can only start in the Athletic Physique class.
